What To Expect

We want to make sure your visits to The Grove Center are pleasant, productive, and stress-free. This page will give you an idea of what to expect on your visits.

Patient Forms

Prior to your initial visit with us, please click the following link to download and complete the New Patient Forms. Upon completion, we ask that you fax them to our office, 703-760-8111. Once our doctors have reviewed your information, they will contact you via email with any additional questions they may have.

Your First Visit

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the start of your appointment to complete any additional paperwork. Your initial visit will last approximately 60 minutes.

Please make sure to:
• Bring your insurance card (if applicable)
• Wear comfortable clothing (work out clothes preferred).

A changing room is available.

Initial Treatment

Both doctors will evaluate your condition and identify the source of your pain or dysfunction. This evaluation will include a thorough examination of your neurological and musculo-skeletal systems. This will provide the basis for a proper diagnosis.

Treatment Program

After your evaluation, the doctors will develop a treatment program that typically involves some form of manual therapy, joint mobilizations and exercises, as necessary. You may also receive instruction for a home exercise program. The doctors will plan, implement, and monitor your entire treatment program.

Scheduling

Please call us at 703-760-8110 if you would like to schedule an appointment or if you would like more information. The initial evaluation will last approximately 60 minutes; subsequent appointments are scheduled for 20-30 minutes. Please arrive 5 minutes early for each appointment. Please note that your appointment time is reserved for you. The doctors usually adhere to the schedule. If you are late to your appointment it will cut into your reserved time. If you are unable to keep an appointment, we require that you cancel your appointment a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. There is a fee for cancellations that are given with insufficient notice.

Insurance/Payment Info

The Grove Center participates with Blue Cross / Blue Shield PPO plans that include chiropractic coverage. The Grove Center is a non-participating provider with Medicare. We do not participate (out-of-network) with any other insurance plans. For BC/BS PPO and Medicare plans, we will contact your insurance company to verify the specifics of your coverage and payment plan. We also advise you to contact your insurance provider as well, as all financial liability is ultimately the patient’s responsibility.

Co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of your scheduled appointments. We accept payment in the form of cash, check, and credit card (Visa/MasterCard only). If you have insurance other than BC/BS PPO, you will be responsible for payment of the entire amount and we will provide you with a receipt that you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement.

Referrals

Doctors of Chiropractic are primary care physicians, so you do not need a prescription or referral to see us.
